The streets of Lilongwe came alive as thousands of Malawians turned out to celebrate the Malawi Queens following their impressive campaign at the Africa Netball Cup in Nairobi.

From Kanengo through Mchesi and Area 18, the Queens’ motorcade was met by cheering crowds waving the Malawi flag, singing and celebrating the team’s bronze-medal finish, which secured Malawi a place at the 2027 Netball World Cup in Sydney.

The excitement began at Kamuzu International Airport and continued through Kanengo, Mchesi and Area 18, with supporters coming out in large numbers as the team’s motorcade made its way into the city.

The celebrations reached Umodzi Park, where sponsor NICO Group hosted a special reception for the Queens.
