The Malawi fans made Kasarani Sports Arena a little piece of home during the Africa Netball Cup 2026 in Nairobi.

From the opening matches, supporters turned up in Malawi colours, filling the stands with songs, dances, chants and unwavering support for the Malawi Queens and Malawi Kings.

Whenever either team took to the court, their presence was impossible to miss. The familiar songs and chants gave the players an extra connection with home, thousands of kilometres away.

Their impact was perhaps most noticeable on the days when Malawi was not playing. Without the familiar Malawi colours and voices around the arena, Kasarani simply felt different.

The fans became an important part of Malawi’s story in Nairobi: travelling, showing up and creating memories alongside the teams throughout the tournament.
