3 Malawi Queens Players to Play in Singapore

The Netball Association of Malawi (NAM) is pleased to announce the successful conclusion of discussions with Step Out 7 and Netball Singapore, paving the way for three Malawian players to compete in the prestigious Deloitte Netball Super League in Singapore in March 2026.

Malawi Queens players Tendai Masamba, Melia Soko, and Stella Matelezi have been selected to feature in the elite competition, marking another significant milestone in the continued growth and international exposure of Malawian netball.

The opportunity follows outstanding performances by Melia Soko and Stella Matelezi at the Netball World Youth Cup and the Africa Netball Cup, where both athletes impressed on the international stage. Tendai Masamba’s selection builds on her consistent national team performances, versatility across the court, and strong showing in recent competitions.

Participation in the Deloitte Netball Super League will provide the players with invaluable exposure to high-level competition, allowing them to test themselves against some of the best talent in the world within a professional environment. The experience gained is expected to play a key role in strengthening their individual development and supporting the ongoing rebuilding and high-performance journey of the Malawi Queens.

This achievement reflects the steady progress being made in Malawian netball through strategic partnerships and increased international opportunities for local athletes. By expanding pathways beyond national borders, NAM continues to lay a stronger foundation for sustained competitiveness and improved performances on the global stage.

NAM extends its sincere appreciation to Step Out 7 for their dedicated partnership and support in making this opportunity possible. The Association also acknowledges the continued backing of the Malawi Government, Ministry of Sports, Malawi National Council of Sports, NICO Group, Vanessa Sisters, Blue Eagles, and Tigresses, whose commitment to player development remains vital to the sport’s growth.

NAM wishes Tendai Masamba, Melia Soko, and Stella Matelezi every success as they proudly represent Malawi in the Deloitte Netball Super League and calls on all Malawians to rally behind the players and support them throughout the competition.
